Thanks to the scholarship from KU's Women's Advancement Program, I was able to successfully complete my doctorate and prepare for a career in science. This gave me secure financial support, which gave me the freedom to concentrate fully on the final phase of my doctorate. At the same time, I still had a connection to KU, which allowed me to expand my networks and deepen my scientific work. In the end, this combination was decisive for me to quickly pursue the scientific path and to receive a call as a professor for social work. I am grateful for this scholarship, which turned out to be an opportunity for me at the right time and in the right place. Especially because an academic career is often associated with many obstacles for women, such offers are worth their weight in gold.
