Prof. Dr. Klaus Stüwe is the Director of the Central Institute for Marriage and Family in Society (ZFG) and Vice President for International Affairs and Profile Development at the Catholic University of Eichstätt-Ingolstadt. He holds the Chair of Comparative Political Science at the KU.

Prof. Stüwe studied Political Science, History, Political Education, Christian Social Teaching and Anthropology in Eichstätt and Washington D.C. (USA). Since 2002, he has been teaching at the KU and in 2013 held a guest professorship in Seoul (South Korea). Numerous books and articles on the political systems of Germany and other countries, including social and family policy issues, were published by him. Many international collaborations with universities and research institutions in the USA, South Korea, Australia, Italy, Spain, Portugal and Poland, among others, can be traced back to his initiative.

Professor Stüwe is programme officer of the German-French integrated degree programme in political science. He is involved in several scientific associations and commissions. From 2004 to 2016 he was a member of the Central Committee of German Catholics and the Standing Committee on Fundamental Political and Ethical Issues. Since 2016 he has been an advisor for Commission VI (Social and Societal Issues) and Commission XI (Marriage and Family) of the German Bishops' Conference.
