Access to e-media: VPN certificate renewal required

To access licensed electronic media from the University Library via a VPN connection, KU members will need a new VPN certificate from February 1, which will be provided by the University Computer Center.

The current certificate required for being able to connect to the KU VPN server will expire on February 1. In order for you to still be able to connect to the VPN, please install the new VPN profile on your devices (computers, notebooks, mobile devices). You can start using the new profile as of now. Instructions on how to download the profile and install it in the VPN client are available on the Computer Center's website.

Should you have any questions or require assistance, please contact the Computer Center's IT support KU.ServiceDesk-IT.

Information on accessing licensed electronic media from the university library can be found at Online access to e-media.

An encrypted VPN (Virtual Private Network) connection is required if you want to use services and offerings with restricted access that are linked to the KU IP address range on your PC or mobile device. This includes, in particular, services that are reserved for KU members and can only be used “within the university network,” such as access to server drives or the use of licensed electronic media offered by the library (e-books, e-journals, and databases).
