VPN

In order to integrate your PC or notebook into the University network and thus be able to use access-restricted services and offers bound to our IP address range, your PC/notebook must be temporarily assigned an IP address of the KU. This is made possible by adding a so-called VPN connection (Virtual Private Network) between your PC and our University network. The data traffic between your PC/notebook and the VPN server is encrypted with a powerful encryption method (AES, 256 bit).

The University Computer Center works with a VPN access based on OpenVPN.
