To a large extent, our research results are based on our own surveys. Depending on the research question, we apply both qualitative and quantitative methods of empirical social research.

One focus of our institute is the evaluation and scientific monitoring of projects that deal with family policy measures

As an interdisciplinary team, we conduct research in many different areas of family sciences. Based on our research results, we advise institutions from politics, church and society on family-related issues.

In our function as a central contact point for all questions of compatibility, we offer an annual public lecture series on a current family-related topic.

We publish our research results mainly in scientific journals and publication series. However, it is also an important concern of ours to communicate our research results to the general public.
