The scholarship Deutschlandstipendium is intended to provide selected, particularly talented and committed first-year students and students at KU Eichstätt-Ingolstadt with a reliable additional source of funding, initially for a period of one year. This is intended to give the recipients the opportunity to better concentrate on their studies.
The Deutschlandstipendium is awarded regardless of nationality and recognises academic achievements to date or - for first-year students - achievements at school. In addition to excellent school or study achievements, special successes, awards and prizes, previous employment and internships as well as extracurricular or extracurricular commitment and special personal or family circumstances are also taken into account, which show that the candidates have also taken on social responsibility and / or have successfully overcome obstacles in their own life and educational path.
The Catholic University of Eichstätt-Ingolstadt decides for itself, within the legally prescribed framework conditions, whether and to whom it grants the Deutschlandstipendium. There is no legal entitlement to the Deutschlandstipendium, which is financed by the federal government and private sponsors.
The amount of the Deutschlandstipendium is € 3,600 per year, half of which is paid by companies, foundations, associations or private individuals, for example, and the other half is contributed by the Federal Government. The scholarship is paid out in instalments of €300 per month. The prerequisite for funding is enrolment at the KU Eichstätt-Ingolstadt. In principle, the scholarship is granted for an initial period of one year. The funding period begins on 1 January of each year. The maximum funding period depends on the standard period of study of the respective degree program.
Scholarship holders worthy of support according to the defined criteria are carefully selected by a selection committee and receive the grant within the standard period of study for a maximum of one calendar year. Re-application is possible within the standard period of study. Initial applications and re-applications must be submitted online via a portal within the application deadline.
New, as well as already enrolled students of the Catholic University of Eichstätt-Ingolstadt can apply as long as they haven't exceeded the maximum length of their program. Applicants from all faculties and programs are welcome! The Deutschlandstipendium is awarded irrespective of income and does not count towards Bafög grants.
Doctoral candidates and students already being supported by a merit-based scholarship exceeding 30 euros per month are excluded from the Deutschlandstipendium.
