Information related to your studies

Studying not only involves lectures, seminars and written assignments – it is also a very special stage in your life. This is why we want to cover more extensive information on this website than just modules, exam dates and study contents.

On this page, you will find, among other things, information about ways to finance your studies, tips on finding accommodation in Eichstätt and Ingolstadt, and important information on how to get your KU.Card, which is the key to many services on campus. If you want to get involved at the KU beyond the scope of your studies, or if you want to rent a Unibus, one of the KU’s minibuses, to travel between the two university locations, you will also find all relevant information here.

Good to know!

One for all: The KU.Card

The KU.Card is a real all-rounder: It is your student ID and library card, but you also use it as your canteen card and for printing, copying and scanning on campus.

Please click here for more information on how to obtain and use your KU.Card.

Save the dates: Semester schedule

All fixed dates for a semester that are set well in advance can be found in the semester time tables. Here you can find out about, for example, the regular course periods, lecture-free days and when you have to re-register for the coming semester.

All dates for examination registration and publication of grades are available on the website of the KU Examinations Office.

Professional presentation: Download document templates

If you have to design presentations for your studies, you can use the official KU PowerPoint and Keynote templates. You can also download and use the KU’s corporate fonts free of charge to use them in the context of your studies.

You can find fonts and document templates in the student portal (currently only available in German) – to access the pages, you need to log in with your user ID.

Parking / parking permit for Eichstätt

The KU has parking spaces available along the street "Am Sportplatz" (near the Main Library). Students can use these parking spaces with a semester parking permit. The parking permit must be reapplied for each semester and a fee of € 5 is charged per semester.

Parking permits for the respective semester can be obtained on the online platform of the company Parkraum Management (PRM). [Please note that our external partner only provides this website in German. If you require assistance in applying for a parking permit, please do not hesitate to contact us.]

Students who already have an account on this platform can log in with their existing login data and order the new parking pass. Students who are not yet registered (e.g. newly enrolled students) must first register on this portal with their KU e-mail address.

Important note: PRM parking permits for students are only valid for KU parking spaces in the designated parking areas around the Main Library, not for public (municipal) metered parking spaces (e.g. Waisenhaus parking lot).

Please also note: Approx. 400 free parking spaces are available at the Volksfestplatz, a 10-minute walk from our KU campus (footpath along the Altmühl river).

Free flat rate ticket for the Ingolstadt theater

For several years now, all KU students have had the opportunity to attend performances at the Ingolstadt theater free of charge. For this purpose, the Student Representatives Council pays a small fee to the Stadttheater every semester.

With a few exceptions (guest performances and premieres are completely excluded from the flat rate), you can thus attend the diverse offer of Ingolstadt's theater completely free of charge. However, please note that you can only reserve and pick up your ticket (by phone or e-mail) three days before the performance at the earliest! The performances are often almost fully booked weeks in advance. Only one ticket can be reserved per person. For reserving a ticket, you need to register once on the website of the Stadttheater. There you will also find all relevant information.

You will receive your ticket directly at the box office on the evening of the performance, upon presentation of your student ID together with your personal ID card. Tickets must be picked up no later than half an hour before the performance starts.
