It is important to me to encourage young people and open up opportunities for their personal and academic development. To me, education means recognizing and nurturing potential and working together to shape their future prospects.

“It was the secrets of heaven and earth that I desired to learn.” From Frankenstein by Mary Shelley—that is exactly what my studies at the KU are all about: discovering new secrets and learning new things.

To me, Philosophy means more than just abstract ideas,
and English is much more than just grammar. The combination of critical reflection, linguistic and cultural education, and personal exchange with professors and fellow students is what makes the teaching degree program at the KU so special to me.

What makes my teaching degree program in Italian, English, and Politics and Society at the KU so special to me is the genuine enthusiasm for language, culture, and social issues, the close exchange with the lecturers, and a learning environment that fosters personal growth.

From Huh? to Aha!, de ¿Qué? a ¡Ajá! That’s exactly how I’d describe my studies in school psychology, English, and Spanish: complex questions become understandable step by step, until you finally have a real “aha” moment.

Teaching English

In the teaching degree program for English, students study English and American literature, linguistics, and subject-specific teaching methods. At the same time, they deepen their language skills and explore the history, culture, and society of English-speaking countries.

Admission & application

An aptitude assessment is required for the English teaching degree program. Please apply by July 15. This applies to all students who wish to enroll in the English teaching degree program at the KU for the first time. If you hold a high school diploma or equivalent obtained abroad, you must also submit documentation for preliminary review via the KU university portal by July 15.

Campus Eichstätt

Eichstätt combines a Baroque old town with canoe trips on the Altmühl River, open-air movies in the summer, and festivals such as the Altstadtfest and the Lichternacht—here, everyday student life meets a genuine zest for life.

Accommodation and living

Finding a place to live is part of planning for uni – whether it’s a dorm, a shared apartment, or your own apartment. Anyone coming to Eichstätt or Ingolstadt to attend uni should start looking for housing early.
