Recognition and credit transfer after a change and of VHB courses
Recognition in three simple steps:
1. Clarify which achievements you want to have recognized and for what purpose.
It is important that you communicate clearly here!
In order to successfully have your achievements transferred, it is crucial to choose them carefully. The aim is to make it clear that these achievements fit perfectly with the modules or electives of your degree program. Study achievements completed at another university are recognized provided that there is no significant difference.
Important information for the best selection for credit transfer can be found in the module descriptions (compare imparted skills and module content here), accessible via KU.Campus or in the module handbooks. If you have any questions or are unsure, please do not hesitate to contact the Subject advisors or the responsible contact persons for credit transfer for the teaching degree programs.
2. Submit a credit transfer request.
Start your recognition process online – quick and easy!
Please go to our online credit transfer portal and submit a request form for the degree programs in which you are enrolled. Here, you can initiate the process for recognition of your achievements with just a few clicks.
Please note: Each request form submitted in the portal is specifically designed for the recognition of a particular module of your degree program. If you would like to have credits transferred for several KU modules, you must submit a separate request for each KU module.
Important note: Before submitting your credit transfer request, please read the information provided in our FAQs regarding the effects of recognition and the transfer of grades.
If your degree program does not yet support the online function, or if there are other reasons why you are unable to submit your request online, no problem! You can create a corresponding ticket here by selecting “Anrechnung/Credit transfer” in the Category drop-down. You will then receive all the necessary information and assistance on how to proceed in your specific case.
The following degree programs do not yet allow online submission of request forms:
- Digital Bachelor's degree program in Catholic Theology
- Magister in Theology
- Master’s degree program in Environmental Processes and Natural Hazards
3. Wait for the credit transfer results.
As soon as your credit transfer request has been processed and the accepted module has been entered in the campus management system, you will be automatically notified by e-mail. You can have your credit transfer result displayed in the online credit transfer portal. The result can also be downloaded as a PDF document.
Please allow up to 3 months for the entire credit transfer procedure to be completed.
