Young people in conflict zones and refugee camps have the opportunity to enroll as students at the KU and participate in the online continuing education course “Learning Facilitator.” The course is held in English.
The “Learning Facilitator” certificate program is offered online in cooperation with Jesuit Worldwide Learning and aims to provide students with application-oriented knowledge in the field of holistic teaching and learning concepts. Through a combination of online courses and personal on-site support, students complete further training to become teachers. Upon successful completion, the program ends with the awarding of a certificate. After graduation, students can take on supporting teaching roles at aid organizations.
Our Postgraduate Studies in Adult Education offer interested students and working adults the opportunity to obtain comprehensive further training in education, enabling them to meet the challenges of a dynamic and diverse society and actively shape the educational landscape. To this end, the postgraduate studies focus on diversity in educational settings. The program therefore explicitly offers migrants and refugees the opportunity to obtain further qualifications.
Participants have the chance to obtain a continuing education certificate. To do so, applicants must provide proof of at least four months of professional experience gained between completing their university degree and beginning their postgraduate studies.
The continuing education program "Sustainable Education at Catholic School based on the Marchtaler Plan” offered by the KUin cooperation with the Catholic School System in Bavaria, responds to the major challenges currently facing schools. The certificate course is primarily aimed at teachers at member schools of the Catholic School System.
The aim of Marchtaler Plan pedagogy is to promote responsible shaping of the environment and the development of individuality and personality, taking into account structural elements of progressive education. The content of the course modules is taught in a practical manner by KU lecturers and experienced teachers from Marchtaler Plan schools. At the same time, the course is linked to school practice through work shadowing at schools that work according to the Marchtaler Plan pedagogy.
Making teaching digital and interactive is currently one of the key challenges for teachers. Schools now have many helpful tools at their disposal, but in addition to the technical provision, training is also necessary in terms of the specific didactic implementation options. This is where the training course “eEducation-Tools – Digital Teaching and Learning Methods” comes in.
In four weeks, course participants will learn about various teaching methods and how to implement them using digital tools. The focus is on the parallel, direct implementation of what has been learned in order to make learning more effective and sustainable for students in the current situation. The training program therefore introduces tools and focuses on directly testing what has been learned in practice. The program is aimed at all teachers of all school types, regardless of the subject they teach. After successfully completing the four-week course, participants receive an official certificate of attendance.
