Female entrepreneurs play a crucial role in the economic development of the Global South but face numerous cultural, institutional and economic barriers. However, little is known about the development or evolution of these constraints and how they can be addressed to support female entrepreneurs in Global South countries.
Against this background and with our experience as educators in entrepreneurship development and education, we strive to understand the issues and antecedents of female entrepreneurs through a series of qualitative and quantitative studies. With our research, we aim to contribute to a better understanding of female entrepreneurship in underserved areas among the research community and invite stakeholders from business, academia, and policymaking to collaborate to support female founders, for a more balanced global future.
