We offer access to approx. 2 million books and journals, more than 73,000 ebooks, over 27,000 electronic journals, as well as different databases, unique historical holdings, a special collection on Eichstätt and much more. Our reading rooms offer a calm environment that makes focused learning easy. Discover the KU University Library as the perfect space for studying and working and organize your everyday studies according to your individual needs. The library is a central facility at the Catholic University of Eichstätt-Ingolstadt and provides both the scientific community and general public in Eichstätt with all the literature and information they need.

Getting started at the University Library

Make sure you attend our introductory events and visit us during the Orientation Weeks to get to know the KU University Libraries.
We show you around both library locations, where to find which books and media and walk you through the first steps for using the library and its services.

Your library card

Your KU.Card also serves as library card with which you can borrow books, order literature or use electronic media.
Your library user number (starting 027...) is printed on the back of your KU.Card. Your initial password is default set to the day and month of your birthday.

Searching and finding media

Our library catalog OPAC lists all media in the stocks of the University Library Eichstätt-Ingolstadt and the library of the TH Ingolstadt. You can also search for historical stocks and media from the region and beyond.
If you need to conduct a more specialized search on specific topics, the DBIS offers scientific databases on all subjects and disciplines and fact databases. Digital versions of scientific journals are available in the EZB.

After having authenticated as a KU member, you can also easily access the growing range of licensed electronic media of the University Library from home.

Library as a place of learning

Discover the KU University Library as the perfect space for studying and working and organize your everyday studies according to your individual needs.
All locations of the University Library offer a calm environment that makes focused learning easy. You can research and work with literature at our classic library workstations in the reading rooms. We also offer PC workstations where you can access digital media and databases, electronic journals and ebooks. If you need to focus on your habilitation, doctoral or Master’s thesis undisturbed, you have the option of renting a carrel at the library.
