Rental tablets for students

Would you like to try something new in your scientific work? You can't do without digital media in the library either? At the UB, several tablets are available for our students for lending.

You can order the tablets via OPAC bestellen and pick them up at the lending desk of the Main Library in Eichstätt or at the service desk in Ingolstadt. The lending period is four weeks with a maximum of five extensions, as long as no other student has reserved the tablet.

The tablets are delivered in a transport case with a cover and power supply unit with charging cable. You have to set up and configure the tablet yourself. In order to be able to access protected content from outside the KU campus, it is necessary to set up a VPN client on the tablets.

If you would like to install apps from the Google Play Store or the Apple Store, the tablet must be connected to a new or existing Google or Apple account.

Please handle the tablets and accessories with care. Before returning the tablet, delete all personal data by resetting the tablet to the delivery status yourself. If you have any technical questions, please contact the library's IT department at ub-edv(at)ku.de.

Notes on usage

  • Loan period: 4 weeks, with a maximum of five extensions. The extension will be revoked as soon as another student puts a reservation on the tablet.
  • Lendings is only possibleto KU students, only one tablet at a time for each user.
  • Order via the OPAC, similar to books from the magazine (local code 00/) or the textbook collection.
  • Issue at the lending desk in the Main Library in Eichstätt or in the branch library in Ingolstadt.
  • The tablets including cover and power supply unit with charging cable are handed out in a carrying case.
  • The tablets are handed out in the delivery state. You have to start up and configure the tablet yourself. For the installation of additional apps from Google Play or the Apple Store, it is necessary to connect the tablet to a new or existing Google or Apple account. This step can be skipped if no additional apps are required.
  • Please delete all personal data before returning the tablet, preferably by resetting the tablet to the delivery status.
  • The "Bibliotheksordnung der KU" (library regulations of the KU) and the ABOB apply accordingly to tablet lending. Please handle the tablets and accessories with care.
