Graduate Program in Operations Management (GPOM)

The “Graduate Program in Operations Management in Manufacturing, Logistics, and Services” provides a framework for the exchange between the involved chairs and for the mutual academical education of the doctoral candidates. It specializes on the application of analytical methods for the solution of complex economic questions. Typical research fields are logistics, production planning, scheduling, dynamic pricing, forecasting methods, as well as the design of auctions.

The activities include university lectures, presentations of leading scientists and company representatives on the one hand, as well as a twice-yearly research workshop (Süd-Workshop quantitative methods, SWQM).

Workshop Quantitative Business Administration (QBWL)

The Workshop for Quantitative Business Administration is a nationwide association of chairs from the area of Operations Research. In an annual meeting, current approaches to research are presented and discussed. This workshop offers a wide forum for experience exchange and establishing contacts to scientists, who are conducting research on related subjects.

Workshop Health Care Management

Together with the TU Munich, the University Augsburg, and the University Hohenheim, the Department of Operations organizes workshops on a regular basis for the discussion of current research results and practice applications in the area of public health.

Moreover, there is a membership at an international research group for Retail Operations, discussing especially topics concerning Operations Management in the Fashion Retail Industry (see www.iese.edu/en/faculty-research/events/fashion-operations-conference).
