Every two years, the ZRKG organises a conference across its three research fields. The conferences take up relevant topics in the interdisciplinary cross-section and thus broadens the view of common scientific questions in the ZRKG.

The first conference of this kind took place from 19 to 21 May 2021 in digital format on the topic: "The same world - and yet everything different? Transformations in times of religious and social upheaval".

The results were published by Nomos in 2022:

Martin Kirschner, Isabelle Stauffer, Alexis Fritz (eds.): Transformationen in Zeiten religiöser und gesellschaftlicher Umbrüche. The same world and yet everything is different (= Transformation Transdisziplinär 1). In collaboration with Nadin Burkhardt and Thomas Pittrof. Baden-Baden 2022.

Nomos, 424 pages, paperback, ISBN 978-3-8487-8496-7; also available as an e-book: ISBN 978-3-7489-2875-1

The second ZRKG conference on "Performing Christianities - The ability to differ in a global society" took place from June 15 to 17, 2023.
