J.L. Schellenberg teaches at the Catholic University of Eichstätt-Ingolstadt

From May 22 to 26, J.L. Schellenberg, one of the most renowned contemporary philosophers, took up a visiting professorship at Catholic University of Eichstätt-Ingolstadt (KU).

Together with Dr. Dr. Klaus Viertbauer of the Chair of Theologie in Transformationsprozessen der Gegenwart and Philosophische Grundfragen der Theologie, Schellenberg held an English-language block seminar on “Rethinking Religion” on May 23 and 24. Starting with central topics in the philosophy of religion, including faith, atheism, religious pluralism, religion and evolution, or the argument from evil and hiddenness, Schellenberg tried to show about twenty students how classical topics can be transformed with the goal of becoming equally accessible to theists, atheists, and agnostics.

Finally, Schellenberg discussed his philosophical work with Prof. Dr. Godehard Brüntrup SJ (Munich School of Philosophy), Prof. Dr. Sebastian Gäb (LMU Munich), Prof. Dr. Georg Gasser (Augsburg University), Dr. Christian Jung and Dr. Dr. Klaus Viertbauer (both CU Eichstätt-Ingolstad) at a conference organized in cooperation with the ZRKG on May 25.
