In 2024, the Family-Friendly KU will offer vacation programs during the first week of the Whitesun vacations, the fall vacations, and on the Day of Penance and Prayer. Children of KU students and employees who are between six and twelve years old can participate.

The program can also be booked individually for each day. The vacation program will mainly take place in Eichstätt, but there will be one excursion to Ingolstadt per vacation week. The care will be provided by experienced caregivers from Mobile Familie e.V. and by students of the KU.

You will find more information and the possibility for registration here.

If necessary, care can also be organized for kindergarten children (by babysitters or in small groups).

The basis for this planning is a survey that the ZFG conducted together with the KU's Women's and Equal Opportunity Officer at the end of January/beginning of February 2021 among KU staff and students. The results of this survey are available on the intranet (in German language only).

The KU cooperates with several institutions to assist its members in finding a childcare place. Here you can find a list of these cooperation facilities as well as other childcare facilities at the locations Eichstätt and Ingolstadt. If you have any questions regarding childcare, please contact the ZFG (familie(at)ku.de).

KU Internal Tutoring Exchange

The KU Internal Tutoring Exchange is designed to bring together KU students who offer tutoring and KU affiliates who are looking for tutoring or homework assistance for their child/children.

The platform is set up as a course on ILIAS and can be accessed via this link (please log in to ILIAS first and then click on the link):

https://elearn.ku.de/ilias.php?ref_id=709880&cmdClass=ilrepositorygui&cmdNode=x4&baseClass=ilrepositorygui

In the section "I offer ..." KU-students can indicate in which subjects and for which grades and types of schools they would like to offer tutoring or homework support and leave a contact option. Parents can then either contact the students directly and/or create their own entry in the "I am looking for ..." section.

The project is just starting, so there are no or very few entries yet. We would be very happy if the exchange fills up soon and thus many pupils can receive support!

If you have any questions, please contact the ZFG (familie(at)ku.de).

There is also a tutoring exchange at KU that aims at bringing together students and schools. You can reach it here: https://padlet.com/ZLB/studentsforstudents
