Corporate Tax Avoidance

 

In this short course, students get to know the most important corporate tax rules and develop the ability to critically discuss tax policy and tax reform proposals. We will discuss current research papers, look at the empirical evidence, and work through theoretical models.

We will examine the following questions:

  • How do corporations avoid taxation?
  • Are profit-shifting activities harmful to high-tax countries?
  • How can high-tax countries limit profit shifting?
