General information

Meaning of the worldwide program

The worldwide program means the following:

  • The exchange takes place on an interdisciplinary basis via a bilateral agreement at a partner university. You do an academic mobility as a student exchange: you study at a partner university and do not pay tuition fees. However, there are other fees. You can find an overview of these fees on the respective university websites or in our info sheets.
  • Participation in ISEP Exchange within the worldwide program: You pay a one-time fee that includes tuition, housing and meals. You can apply to over 300 universities within the ISEP program. Download: ISEP Fees. Please note: You must first successfully apply for the worldwide program in order to participate in the ISEP Exchange.
  • You are still enrolled at KU during the semester abroad and must also pay the semester fee at KU.
  • Your achievements from abroad can be credited via a learning agreement. More information can be found under "Academic Recognition".

Ideally, the request should be made to a full-time lecturer at the KU by the end of the previous summer semester at the latest. In certain cases, e.g. Master students who have just started their studies at the KU, the reference may be written by a full-time faculty member of another university.

The review must be sent directly to the International Office by November 15 of the respective year.
