The Professorship of Social Pedagogy is dedicated to research and teaching on the diverse traditions, theories, and fields of practice within social pedagogy. At its core, it engages with both contemporary and historical conceptions of educational action in light of social and societal challenges and developments. Key areas of reflection include issues of social participation, educational equity, and the support of individuals in various life situations. Particular emphasis is placed on resource-oriented approaches, the promotion of self-determination, and the empowerment of individuals and communities to act within their respective life contexts. Students acquire essential theoretical, methodological, and reflective competencies for professional practice in the diverse fields of social pedagogy.
