The network sees itself as a complementary institution to existing activities and cooperation formats. It intends in particular to act as a regional network with such initiatives lacking in Bavaria to date.

The network is to be established from the Center for Flight and Migration, which was founded in 2016 at the Catholic University of Eichstätt-Ingolstadt.

The activities include regular meetings and public relations work. The network is also establishing several research clusters in which migration and flight issues will be researched intensively.

Forschungsmanufakturen – interdisiplinary and cross-university

Together with a group of researchers from different institutions and disciplines, the Center for Flight and Migration wants to explore which topics, methods and networking activities will become important and significant in the medium term. Each of them has a superordinate topic.

Doctoral students colloquium

In summer 2018, an interdisciplinary research colloquium was established for staff members at the Center for Flight and Migration. During the colloquium, projects from the field of research on flight, migration and integration are being presented, discussed and deliberated.

The (early career) researchers in the group consult and discuss research questions, theories, methodological procedures and organizational matters. The qualification and research papers are created in different disciplines. Guests are always welcome to discuss current projects in the field of refugee, migration and integration research.
