In summer 2018, an interdisciplinary research colloquium was established for staff members at the Center for Flight and Migration. During the colloquium, projects from the field of research on flight, migration and integration are being presented, discussed and deliberated.
The (early career) researchers in the group consult and discuss research questions, theories, methodological procedures and organizational matters. The qualification and research papers are created in different disciplines. Guests are always welcome to discuss current projects in the field of refugee, migration and integration research.

The network saw itself as a complementary institution to existing activities and cooperation formats. In particular, it aimed to function as a regional network, as such initiatives had previously been lacking in Bavaria.
The network emerged from the Center for Flight and Migration, which was founded in 2016 at the Catholic University of Eichstätt-Ingolstadt.
Its activities included regular meetings and public relations work. The network also established several research clusters that conducted in-depth research on issues related to migration and flight
Together with a group of researchers from various institutions and disciplines, the Center for Flight and Migration aimed to explore which topics, methods, and networking activities would become important and relevant in the medium term. Each researcher focused on a specific overarching topic.
