Developments in relationship quality in the context of mobility requirements for partnership, family, children and education
The consequences of job-related mobility requirements often lead to weekend relationships or even stays abroad with or without family. For a fulfilling private, couple and family life, these times of spatial distance sometimes bring considerable challenges.
The aim of the various research projects at the ZFG is to increase the knowledge of the quality of relationships and upbringing as well as relationship-stabilizing and -destabilizing components in all areas of life for couples and families living in long-distance relationships, whether voluntarily or for professional reasons, and to contribute to the development of supporting structures at all levels.
The accompanying practical initiatives of the project aim on the one hand at the effective preparation and support of affected couples and families before, during and after long-distance relationships. And on the other hand, at the further training of multipliers (including e. g. psychology and family therapy, pastoral care or also marriage, family and life counselling).
