Organisational Behaviour

Organisational Behaviour encompasses various focal points of the chair. These include digital mindset and the management of professional service firms.

Digital Mindset means seeing the world and the available information through a cognitive filter. It is a fundamental and omnipresent way of thinking that influences one's intentions and behaviours. This digital cognitive filter is an essential competence to function effectively in business contexts characterised by high technological and managerial complexity as a result of digitalisation. Digital Mindset research is crucial, especially as digital transformation poses major challenges to businesses and employees alike. The construct of a digital mindset is a valuable employee competence that plays a crucial role in successfully paving the way for digital transformation in companies. In its research, the LSR deals with the definition and conceptualisation of the digital mindset, as well as the measurement of the construct.

By professional service firms (PSFs) we mean service companies that are characterised by their knowledge intensity, their professionalised workforce and their low capital intensity (e.g. consulting firms, auditing firms & law firms). They are of central importance in today's research and economy, as on the one hand they are considered role models for other organisations in an increasingly knowledge-based economy, but on the other hand, they also represent a significant economic sector due to their high employee and turnover figures. The research of the LSR focuses on the strategic management of professional service firms and the study of the phenomenon of silence (organisational & employee silence) in this specific organisational context.
