The first conference of the KU Research Institute for Taxation took place on 7 February 2025. Invited guests and members of the KU Research Institute for Taxation presented their research work and then discussed it with the other participants.
The first conference of the KU Research Institute for Taxation focussed on current challenges and future prospects in the taxation of multinational companies as well as the economic consequences of tax reforms. Institute directors Dominika Langenmayr and Reinald Koch brought together both economists and business economists who deal with the topic of taxation as part of their research.
‘The KU Research Institute for Taxation has already been in existence for several years and we have grown significantly in recent years. So now was the right time to bring our affiliated researchers from different universities together in one place to deepen the exchange and further intensify cooperation in research,’ explains Prof. Langenmayr.
The event was attended not only by members of the institute but also by other young researchers, who presented and discussed their current research work. ‘With Prof Dirk Schindler from Erasmus University Rotterdam, we were also able to attract an outstanding keynote speaker who - like us at the KU Research Institute for Taxation - combines economic and business aspects in his research,’ says Prof. Langenmayr.
‘The conference provided a forum for exciting discussions from which all participants could hopefully benefit and take away important impulses for their work,’ summarised Prof. Langenmayr.
