The Chair of Economic Ethics and Social Policy at WFI deals with the connection between economic efficiency and social justice in teaching and research.
In courses such as “Economic and Business Ethics”, “Social Policy”, “Advanced Economic Ethics” or “Social Market Economy”, economic ethics and social policy issues are taught in a theory-based and method-oriented manner.
Research focuses on the question of how economic freedom and social justice can be combined in the sense of the concept of the social market economy. Economic measures are analyzed from a positive and normative perspective and reform proposals are evaluated in terms of justice, freedom and efficiency. Among other things, microsimulation models of tax-transfer systems are used.
