Research

The main focus of our work is in the question: what makes a Market Economy a “Social” Market Economy? To address this question, we analyze the structural design and the social outcomes of economic systems not only from an economic, but also from a moral point of view. Additionally, we evaluate the impact of reform proposals on social justice, individual freedom and economic efficiency.

Research topics:

1. Meaning of solidarity in pluralistic and cosmopolitan societies

2. Future of the welfare state in demographic and economic change

3. Microsimulation of welfare reform programs

4. Energy transition and energy poverty
