Glaciers, protective laws and inventories: Environmental conflicts and socio-technical controversies in Argentina

Vortrag von Dr. Lucrecia Wagner (Argentine Institute of Nivology, Glaciology and Environmental Science – CONICET) und Dr. Facundo Rojas (Argentine Institute of Nivology, Glaciology and Environmental Science – CONICET, Institute of Geography of the National University of Cuyo) im Rahmen des Eichstätter Geographischen Kolloquium im WiSe 2024/25

In their conference, “Glaciers, protective laws and inventories: environmental conflicts and socio-technical controversies in Argentina”, Professors Lucrecia Wagner and Facundo Rojas will talk about the evolution of two of the key actors in the process of the glacier law in Argentina: the scientific sector and the socio-environmental assemblies.
By describing the controversies that led one of the actors to file a lawsuit against the other, we reflect on the potential consequences of this disagreement in relation to  the current status of glacier law.
