Prof. Dr. Frédéric Liébault, INRAE, Grenoble, France (invited)

Post-Conference Field Trip: Friday July 26th

We're going to visit one of our study areas in the Bavarian Alps, most likely the Lainbach torrent near Benediktbeuern. The area was extensively studied in the 1970s and 1980s with regard to hydrological processes and sediment transport. Recently, we resumed hydrological and meteorological measurements and geomorphological investigations in order to detect changes. The Lainbach catchment will thus become a natural laboratory to study the impact of climatic and environmental change in the subalpine to alpine altitudinal belt.

A maximum of 28 people can participate. We'll travel in small buses, packed lunch and drinks will be available for registered participants (cost for excursion 60 EUR extra).

Those participants not registered for the excursion will either begin their journey home or spend some more days enjoying Eichstätt, the surrounding region or trips leading further away.
