Overview and contact

The association “Sozialwerk der Katholischen Universität Eichstätt-Ingolstadt e.V.” of the Catholic University of Eichstätt-Ingolstadt supports KU students in economic and social matters. Structure and objectives of the association are governed by statutes. Students become members of the association automatically upon enrollment. Each student pays a membership fee of € 4.00 per semester.

As a member, every student is entitled to vote in the General Assembly and is entitled to vote and be elected to the bodies of the association. The statutes of the association can be viewed at the office.

Offer and responsibilities

  • Psychological / psychotherapeutic counseling
  • Legal advice
  • Free bus transfer to courses between the Eichstätt and Ingolstadt campuses (see "Borrowing vehicles" below) or travel allowances (see "Travel costs" below) for public transportation
  • Students can borrow vehicles for purposes connected to university or student activities (e.g. field trips, trips by student groups/associations)
  • Grants in cases of economic hardship
  • Operation of vending machines
  • Washing machines and tumble dryers (Eichstätt: KGB U06Ingolstadt: NB U03)

Borrowing vehicles

A minibus is available for KU students to be used free of charge at the Eichstätt campus and a small car at the Ingolstadt campus for the following purposes:

  • Transfer to courses (lectures, seminars, exercises, examinations)
  • Official university events (Dies Academicus, President's Hearing, General Assembly of the Sozialwerk, start/end of semester church service, Hofgartenfest/Präsi-Cup, Science Slam)
  • Student Plenary Assemblies of the Student Representative Council
  • Representation of students in University bodies and committees

The starting point and destination should be either the Eichstätt campus or the Ingolstadt campus. If you have any questions, Ms. Thirion (sozialwerk(at)ku.de) is happy to help.

You can also rent these vehicles for a fee for other purposes, which falls under the commercial business operations of the association. In this context, for statutory reasons, cost-covering and standard market prices must be charged for trips by KU members (students, employees, lecturers).

Prices for renting the vehicles for a fee

The prices for the chargeable rent of the minibus (location: Eichstätt campus):

€ 80.00 net (€ 95.20 gross) flat fee per day (1/2 day up to 5 hours: € 50.00 net)

plus € 0.30 net (€ 0.36 gross) per additional kilometer driven in excess of the free kilometers.

The prices for chargeable rent of the small car (location: Ingolstadt) are as follows:

€ 40.00 net (€ 47.60 gross) flat fee per day (1/2 day up to 5 hours: € 25.00 net)

plus € 0.25 net (€ 0.30 gross) per additional kilometer driven in excess of the free kilometers.

 

Student groups of the University are granted a 15% discount on vehicle rentals (for more information, please contact the Student Representative Council).

Reimbursement of travel costs

Upon application, students can receive a reimbursement for 50% of the costs for journeys made by public transport for the above-mentioned purposes/events in Eichstätt or Ingolstadt.

Travel costs from at home to campus are not reimbursable. Transfers between two university events/courses (usually Eichstätt <-> Ingolstadt) can be reimbursed.
