TF-KVT-Web: online training for therapists in trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy for children and adolescents

[Translate to Englisch:] Logo TF_KVT

This project is about the creation of a German-language version of the US-American internet-based learning program for trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy (tf-CBT web). For this purpose, the contents of the original American version will be translated and supplemented by a part that relates to work with young refugees. The learning program will later be available free of charge to therapists who want to conduct their own therapies with TF-KVT and thus contribute to the dissemination of evidence-based procedures.

YOURTREAT - A randomized controlled psychotherapy study for trauma therapy in young refugees – Your Health cooperative outpatient clinic

Your Health

YOURTREAT is one of three subprojects within the YOURHEALTH project funded by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research that investigates the effectiveness of trauma therapy for young refugees. As one of four treatment centers, the Psychotherapeutic University Outpatient Department at the KU is participating in the randomized controlled treatment trial to test the efficacy of Narrative Exposure Therapy for Children and Adolescents (KidNET) with this specific target group.

More specifically, the goal of YOURTREAT is to find out whether treating refugee children and adolescents using KidNET leads to a reduction in symptoms of mental disorders, particularly post-traumatic stress disorder. This will compare KidNET treatment with the usual treatment of refugee children and adolescents in the German health care system.

Start of project: May 2019
