Why WFI?

WFI – Ingolstadt School of Management of the Catholic University of Eichstätt-Ingolstadt is reputed for its small and tight-knit student community, top-rank research, large number of international partner universities for study abroad experiences, enviable student to instructor ratio (11:1 on average), strong and loyal alumni community, and consistently successful student placement record. It is located in an economically thriving region of Germany, namely Ingolstadt in Bavaria.

Six reasons, one result: Business Administration at WFI

1- Top Rankings and High Student Satisfaction

Throughout Germany, the WFI is one of the best university facilities in the field of business administration. This is also shown by our excellent ranking results for years, e.g. latest:

  • Trendence Graduate Barometer: WFI Ingolstadt School of Management confirmed its top positions in 6/10 categories and received top rankings in the following areas: „Business Cooperations", „Lecturers/Professors", „Service and Counselling", „Practical Relevance", „Career Service" and „Quality of the Library"
  • CHE Hochschulranking: WFI is ranked at the top regarding "range of courses”, "degrees in due course”, "overall study situation” and "total number of students”; excellent evaluations regarding "student-to-teacher ratio“, "practical relevance”, "international orientation of the study programs”, "feasibility of study workload” and “support for university entrants”

The WFI is more than only professional studies: students become part of the WFI family. Our students are highly motivated and very committed to student initiatives and organizations. This is all part of the WFI’s unique team spirit.

For the fifth time in a row, the KU – and thus the WFI – was ranked among the most popular universities in Germany according to the website Studycheck.de. After having been awarded the number one position as Germany’s most popular university for study conditions and satisfaction twice in a row, KU is now ranked second nationwide. The study reports that 98% percent graduates would recommend KU as a good place to study.

2- Excellent Study Programs and Student-Teacher Ratio

With fewer than 1100 students, the WFI is among the smallest faculties of business administration in Germany. The excellent student-teacher ratio of 11:1 enables us to offer individualized study programs, adjusted to students' preferences, and to stay in close contact with our students. The personal counseling, the compact and well-equipped campus and especially the solidarity among all members of the faculty provide excellent study conditions.

3- Career-Springboard: How We Engage With the Outside World

Global leaders, DAX companies, and start-ups are all part of our partner companies and provide internship and permanent positions for our students. By means of our close cooperation with partner companies, numerous possibilities open up for our students and teachers to put theoretical knowledge and research outcomes into practice. Career fairs on campus as well as company presentations and workshops offer best opportunities for networking. In addition, many students write their thesis in cooperation with external companies. Our courses are very application-oriented and enable our students to gather experience with and in companies.

4- Internationality: over 90 Partner Universities Worldwide

Our students are at home in Ingolstadt and in the whole world: multi-language study programs and over 90 partner universities provide an international study atmosphere. Most of our students (approx. 90 %) spend one or more semesters abroad at one of our well-known partner universities. We support and facilitate study abroad by offering a compulsory business language, a range of courses taught in English, and additional lectures by international guest lecturers.

5- Engagement and Societal Impact at WFI: Shape Your Career and Make an Impact

Engagement with all our extended stakeholders is built into the DNA of WFI and is reflected in every aspect of research, teaching, and service activities at WFI. It is not a stretch to claim that the school does not need to ‘encourage’ engagement, as it is part of the school’s fabric and is an integral part of all our activities.

6- Research at WFI

Our robust support structures amplify research output and pave pathways for young researchers (doctoral and post-doctoral candidates, and junior professors). In terms of publications and external research funding through grants, WFI consistently delivers sterling results. With the launch of two multidisciplinary research institutes over the last four years, we've broken down the barriers to cross-departmental collaboration. Our professors serve as Associate Editors and Editorial Review Board Members at internationally top-ranked peer-reviewed journals, regularly publish in them, hold leadership positions in associations in their respective academic fields, and actively participate in the top research conferences in their areas.

"In retrospect, the WFI was also the right choice - optimal proximity to teaching and lecturers and high commitment of fellow students inside and outside the university. This school had a decisive influence on my personal path and this opportunity is still available today. " Through superior course topics with practice-relevant problems and interesting guest lectures from leading commercial enterprises, a connection between theory and practice is established.
