Forschung an der KU ist vielfältig und spiegelt die ganze Bandbreite von Forschungsthemen und Themenfeldern an der KU wider. Forschung findet an allen Lehrstühlen und Professuren sowie in besonderen forschenden Institutionen statt.

Für die Forschung bietet die KU ein ideales Umfeld: eine umfangreiche Bibliothek mit einzigartigem Quellenbestand, Forschungs- und Medienlabore, zahlreiche Begegnungsstätten und vor allem kreative Köpfe.

Forschungsförderung und die Akademische Karrieren sind der KU ein besonderes Anliegen.

Das Zentrum für Forschungsförderung (ZFF) ist hier die zentrale Anlauf- und Servicestelle für alle Anfragen forschungsstrategischer wie auch operativer Natur –  mit besonderem Fokus auf die Anbahnung und Einwerbung  begutachteter drittmittelgeförderter Forschungsprojekte. Das ZFF informiert und berät Forschende in allen Stadien ihrer Vorhaben und Karrierestufen.

The binding allocation of places takes place approx. 6 weeks before the date of the event.

In today's fast-paced academic landscape, the ability to communicate research visually is an invaluable skill. This workshop is designed to introduce early career researchers from the humanities and natural sciences to cutting-edge AI tools that simplify and enhance the process of creating visuals for presentations, publications, and public engagement.

The course begins with an introduction to the principles of effective visual communication, emphasizing clarity, accessibility, and audience engagement. Participants will explore a range of AI-powered platforms and tools for generating graphs, infographics, and illustrative content. They will learn how to combine their data with AI technologies to create visuals that resonate with their target audience.

Throughout the day, participants will engage in hands-on activities, working with their own work or case studies provided by the facilitators. By the end of the workshop, attendees will leave with a portfolio of visuals they can use in their professional work and the knowledge to continue applying AI tools in their research communication.

The objective of this workshop is to empower early career researchers from all fields to effectively leverage AI tools for creating compelling visuals that enhance their research communication. They will gain the skills to design professional and engaging visuals that make their work accessible and impactful for both academic and public audiences.
