„jailbreak – musikalische Inklusion im Strafvollzug“

Inklusion durch Musik in der Exklusion – so lässt sich in wenigen Worten das bislang im deutschen Sprachraum kaum thematisierte Anliegen der Tagung beschreiben: Information, Austausch und Ausblick über verschiedene musikpädagogische Praxen und Erfahrungen im Strafvollzug. Da Gefängnisse gesellschaftlich betrachtet eine Art “black box” darstellen, innerhalb derer nur sehr wenige Musikpädagog*innen aktiv sind, eröffnet die Tagung Einblicke und Perspektiven besonderer Art. Die Resultate der mutigen Pionierarbeit einiger Akteure*innen zeigen Grenzen und Hindernisse auf, zeugen aber vor allem von einem hohen Potenzial, nicht nur für die (Re-)Sozialisierung der Gefangenen, sondern auch im Hinblick auf neue musikpädagogische Arbeitsfelder und die Umsetzung des Menschenrechts Inklusion durch “Community Music”.

When music encourages inclusion in an exclusion setting – these few words aptly describe the conference objective which has to date been barely addressed in the German-speaking world: Providing information on as well as enabling exchange and looking into perspectives of different music educational practices and experiences in penal institutions. From a societal point of view, prisons are often perceived as a “black box”, in which only very few music education specialists become active.

This is why our conference wants to give an insight into this fieldand offer special perspectives. The results of the work by some committed pioneers reveal boundaries and limits, but predominantly also prove that there is great potential not only in view of the detainees’ social rehabilitation but also when it comes tocreating new fields of work and the implementation of the humanright inclusion with the help of “Community Music”.
