The program offered by the educational staff development in higher education team enables participants to obtain the "Certificate for Teaching in Higher Education of the Bavarian Universities". For employees with a high teaching load (e.g. Lecturers with specified function), the advanced level offers an opportunity for further professionalization. The Erasmus+ (STA) funding line supports teaching activities at partner universities abroad.
The professional development program, which was developed in line with diverse areas of expertise, offers the opportunity for interdisciplinary qualification. A mixture of online self-study courses, on-campus and online formats of varying lengths enables learning to be tailored to individual needs.
Lecturers at the KU can also take advantage of the professional development program offered by the Bavarian Center for Innovative Teaching . The Center for Science Management and the Center for Higher Education Development also offer academic continuing education courses. The Bavarian Virtual University also offers free online courses.
The International DAAD Academy offers special training courses on the topic of internationalization at German higher education institutions: Regional and intercultural skills, specialist language courses, sustainability and digitalization in the context of internationalization, university marketing and much more.
Participation in time-consuming and cost-intensive further training (certificate courses, training courses, etc.) is possible under certain conditions. More information is available here.

The "Academic Careers" section supports early-career researchers in shaping their own academic careers and advises them on career paths in science and academia. The internal workshop program supports the development of science-related skills.
The competence field "Career planning and job applications" includes a regular program for job searches and applications on the non-academic job market. The collection of literature on "A career beyond science" provides information on possible non-university and science-related career paths and professional fields as well as application strategies.
The coaching program for female early-career researchers supports female doctoral students and postdocs in their early phase when it comes to their career orientation and decision-making processes. The mentoring program allows you to expand your personal network and offers support in planning your academic career path. The program is aimed at female early-career researchers at the KU who are in the doctoral, habilitation or postdoctoral phase.

The following service is particularly relevant for you as an early-career researcher: For research/business trips abroad, you need to undergo an examination by our occupational health service (so-called G35 examination).
